Two of our founders, Frank Koonce and Todd Hallawell, are professional musicians.
Frank Koonce, our Artists and Repertoire Director, has directed the classical guitar
program at Arizona State University since 1978 and is an international performing artist.
He has served as Chair of the Advisory Board for the Guitar Foundation of America and
is a contributing editor for the GFA journal Soundboard. His editions of music are
published by Mel Bay Publications, Inc., Productions d’Oz, and Neil A. Kjos Music

Soundset, is the winner of a Rotary Fellowship in Music and as a result received part of
his training in recording engineering at Amazon Studios, Liverpool, England. He is a
classically trained musician who has performed professionally for over three decades and, as
first-prize winner of the "Winfield Competition," holds the title of "1997 National Finger-
