Atlanta Guitar Trio
Scott Plato, Adam Craighead, and Bill Hearn have many decades of experience in guitar performance and as educators of guitar. Working together as The Atlanta Guitar Trio, they provide audiences with exciting, fun, and entertainingly musical concert programs. The group performs music from many different historical time periods. Scott, Adam, and Bill incorporate not only guitar in the trio ensemble, but they also perform arrangements of music for guitar and mandolin, as well as guitar and theorbo. During concerts, the trio entertains audience members with historical information on the musical instruments they use. They also provide historical insight into the composers and compositions performed.
Scott Plato - Guitar
Scott received his Bachelor's degree in classical guitar performance from Georgia State University under the instruction of John Sutherland, a protege of Andres Segovia. In 1995 Scott founded the guitar department at Gainesville College in Gainesville Georgia and was the Head of Guitar Studies there until 2000. In 1999, he released his debut CD, "Perspectives," a collection of duets with violin and guitar solos. His book on guitar improvisation, "Creating Guitar Solos," is now being sold worldwide on

Previous collaborations have included performances with members of the Atlanta Symphony and the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra. Scott currently maintains a busy schedule as a performer and teacher in the Atlanta area and is Head of Guitar Studies at Gordon College.
Scott is the owner of Plato's Music School located in the heart of Johns Creek, GA. The school instructs students on instruments such as guitar, piano, voice, drums, violin, flute, and many other instruments. Online lessons are also available. Adam Craighead - Guitar
Adam Craighead received his Bachelor's degree from North Georgia College and has studied under various skilled instructors including previous Atlanta Guitar Trio member Richard Knepp and current member Scott Plato. Adam currently teaches various styles of guitar techniques at a number of schools in the metro Atlanta area and in north Georgia.
Bill Hearn - Guitar
Bill received his doctorate in guitar from the University of Arizona in Tucson. He currently teaches guitar at Clayton College and State University. Bill was chosen three times as an International Semifinalist in the Guitar Foundation of America Solo Competition, and worked for four years in the North Carolina Visiting Artist program.
