From 1976 to 1979, The Trio de guitars Laval gave numerous concerts for the Jeunesses Musicales du Canada, throughout Canada and abroad. Following a growing demand for concerts and masterclasses, the trio participated in the Guitar Foundation of America Conventions in New Orleans (1976) and Milwaukee (1979).

The content of this recording, from 1979, made the trio special for its diversity of instrumentation, which was unique, and by the rich contribution to the enlargement of the guitar's repertoire, with original transcriptions and new works dedicated to the ensemble.

Transcriptions are by Paul Gerrits (1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9); and by Jacques Chandonnet (3, 5, 11, 12, and 13). Printed music of titles 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, and 16 are available through Les Éditions Doberman-Yppan.
